This past weekend Jeremy and started working on a project for the house. Well it was supposed to be "we" but ended up being more Jeremy since I was keeping the little man happy. Anyway back to the story, I really wanted an entry way table and a piece of furniture for behind the couch...well we found a desk type table in Papaw's shed and brought it home. It is the perfect size for either location. One problem, we did not like how it looked. So here comes the fun part...redoing it. We originally wanted to do the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, so after watching MANY tutorials on how to use it and different techniques we loaded up and head to the Faux finish place on Old Fanning...they were closed! I was so very sad, so sad, and I couldn't figure out where the other place was that sold it..Jamie if you are reading this let me know where it is, thanks!...again back to the story. We then headed on to Lowe's and bought a deep red, I believe it was Heirloom Red and we already had the linen color and crackle at home from when we distressed John Preston's furniture. Now time for the work...Jeremy painted the red, and then the crackle. Then when we went to look at the progress of the drying crackle we noticed there were spots where it wasn't sticking very well..weird. The only thing we can come up with is the weather, it was so cold in the garage and maybe that made it dry funny. Then we put on the top linen coat and it crackled away. Looking good and weathered...yippee! Jeremy is having the best time working on the furniture...no really he is. He is very proud of his work. We are going to put a darker glaze over the whole thing..it is supposed to give it a more weathered look. So for now the picture above is what it looks like..I will post the glazed finish once that's done. I cannot wait to get it in the house and get it all set up!
Next stop Flea Market...Jeremy wants to find some more furniture to work out. We have a few dressers already in our house that could use an update but he wants some other pieces too. Craigslist and Flea Market will be our good good friends for these fabulous finds!
John Preston update...for the past three nights he has slept 6-7 hours AMEN and Thank you Jesus. He has skipped one of his two nightly feedings, again THANK YOU Jesus. Maybe he is finally deciding it is okay to sleep just a little bit longer. He is starting to laugh and smile a lot. He LOVES his hands and LOVES to have them in his mouth. If he cannot find his hands he will go for your hands. He has rolled over a few times from tummy to back. I was very excited but I am not sure how excited he was...he was a little scared each time he did it. Pictures to come later...he is such a cute boy! Loves him.

The other store is in Fondren in the same shopping center as McDade's on the corner. I think it used to be a stationary store. Message me if you can't find it.
