This weekend I hosted Kelli's shower and it was a lot of fun. Jeremy and I worked real hard on getting everything set up in time, and with a 15 week old at home with us that made things a little harder. For her shower I really wanted a picture framed of the two of them. Well I saw an idea on Pinterest so I had to try it...I had this board in my "art closet" and I always have mod podge so I put the two together and came out with this.
You simply need a wooden plaque or just piece of wood, a photo copied picture (works easier on printer paper then picture paper), mod podge, and paint. I painted the green first and let it dry. Then mod podged the picture on to the board. I then painted a cream border around the picture and just a few strokes of cream on the sides. Then for the brown I used a brown gel glaze, just paint on and then rub off. It turned out way cuter then I had expected. I really like it! Plus it matched my pottery I used on the table!
Below is the finished desk for our entry way. We/Jeremy hung the pictures last week and I was in charge of finding stuff to go on the desk. So a new lamp and a piece of our pottery...we are good to go. I LOVE it.
On to the smoothie..every morning I usually make a smoothie...yogurt, ice, skim milk, peanut butter or nutella (just one tablespoon), fruit and blend away. I keep seeing all these posts about the green smoothie...well after hearing from another green smoothie believer I just had to try it. So this morning I made my normal smoothie and put in a healthy handful of baby spinach....ingredients below...
Mine so did not come out lime green like the pictures I keep seeing. It was a greenish brown color..I am assuming because of the peanut butter. It was green, really green, while it was blending until it started getting towards the pb and strawberries. Well....it was GREAT. Tasted just like my normal smoothie just a little healthier. I am found a new breakfast staple, the green smoothie.
